Kejriwal skips second ED Summon labelling it 'Illegal and Politically Motivated'

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has strongly criticized the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) second summons, dismissing it as "illegal and politically motivated." The Chief Minister, currently participating in a 10-day vipassana (meditation) session in Punjab, has called for the withdrawal of the summons.

Kejriwal is skipping the second summons of the ED asking him to appear before it on Thursday (December 21) for questioning in the Delhi excise case. A day before his expected appearance in the ED office, Kejriwal left Delhi according to a programme that was finalised before he received the summons on Monday, December 18. His office stated that the CM is prepared to comply with legal summons but considers the ED's latest directive as unfounded and politically driven, similar to previous summonses.

This development follows Kejriwal's non-compliance with the ED's first summons on November 2. On that occasion, instead of appearing before the ED, Kejriwal attended a political rally in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh.
